In This Moment

I have a few thoughts from the past several weeks as I have been working, spending time with friends and family, and preparing to leave for Thailand.  Several times I have been asked, "Are you getting nervous?" or, "Are you ready?"

I've also heard "You must be so excited to go!" or, "I'm sure you're ready to get to Thailand now."

And honestly I have been preparing, and doing a lot of research focused on Thailand — but I am very content where I'm at right now.  I am still in my routine of getting up for work in the morning and serving people coffee.  I'm enjoying lunch with my friends, and hanging out with the amazing people I have in my life here. Although I do spend time thinking about what God has planned for me in Thailand, I spend a lot more time thinking about how lucky I am here in Michigan.

I have had the honor and privilege over the past year and a half to become connected to a wonderful church family at The Lakes Community Church.  Within that church family there are 5 families who have literally poured endless encouragement, joy, and direction into my life.  They have lifted me out of some pretty dark times, and rejoiced with me through some great accomplishments miracles over the last few months.  Jen, Spence, Monte, Beth, Brooks, Jill, Sue, Paul, and Melissa — along with all of their amazing kids — have each shown me an amazing picture of Jesus' grace, love, and servant heart.

If I didn't take the time live in this moment that I have with each of these friends, as well as my family, in the time I have left in Michigan I would be missing out on a lot. I have been extremely blessed in the season I'm coming out of here.  I'm excited for the season that God is leading me into — but I'm not going to miss out on what I have left here.

I'm not nervous because I know I'm in God's will.  I'm ready because I'm trusting in Him.  I am very excited about Thailand, but I'm not ready to go today. I have 36 more days to enjoy what I've been blessed with here :)
